On November 21, 1981, after the end of the season, a 0-1km race was held at the Istrina military base in Italy between an Alfa Romeo 179 (Giacomelli), a Brabham BT49 (Piquet, Patrese), a Ferrari 126CK (Villeneuve), and a Lockheed F-104.
The car was subsequently donated and is still located beside the Fiorano circuit.
